Patricia Hutchison, CAPS, CPM – President

Pat Hutchison

As President of Mission Rock Residential, Pat is responsible in part, for the planning and coordination, transition, development, and performance of property operations. She currently oversees assets valued at $2 billion.

Under Pat’s leadership, Mission Rock is an industry leader in implementing policies and procedures, metrics, systems, best practices, management structure, compensations systems, use of technology and effective training to create a strong and consistent operating discipline for Mission Rock. Pat serves as the Executive Certified Property Manager (CPM) for Mission Rock Residential, which earned the Accredited Management Organization (AMO) designation through IREM in 2016.

Prior to joining Mission Rock, Pat was with Legacy Partners Residential, Inc. (LPRI). She joined LPRI in 1992 and was the Regional Manager in Northern and Southern California. She was then promoted to Vice President, and was responsible for the property management of the Colorado and Utah regions where her focus was the oversight of several thousand units with values in excess of $450MM. Her multifamily experience spans over 27 years, in which time her broad expertise has helped her position assets to maximize value. This has earned her a much respected reputation from both institutional and private owners.

Pat served on the Board of Directors for the National Apartment Association Educational Institute (NAAEI). In 2012, she was awarded the Most Outstanding Executive in Colorado by the Apartment Association Metro Denver (AAMD). She is also Past President of the Colorado Apartment Association (CAA) and served on the Colorado Apartment Association Board of Directors. Ms. Hutchison also serves on the IREM Denver Chapter 17 Board of Directors as President elect and holds a Colorado Employing Broker License. She also holds a CAPS Designation (Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor), through the National Apartment Association. Ms. Hutchison is also a Certified Property Manager through the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).



Charlie O’Connell Jr. – Chief Financial Officer

Charlie O’Connell Jr.

As Chief Financial Officer and co-founder, Charlie brings over 20 years of finance, banking and real estate industry experience to Mission Rock. Prior positions include senior roles underwriting, structuring, and syndicating real estate debt as well as senior management positions with several private and early stage ventures. Over the course of his career, Charlie has been involved in a wide range of real estate projects including mixed use, multifamily, commercial office and senior housing developments across the United States. As an entrepreneur, he founded consulting companies to provide contract finance professionals and raise capital for private companies in the Bay Area. Charlie graduated Cum Laude with a BA in Political Science from Providence College.


Meredith Wright, CAPS – Executive Vice President Eastern U.S. Region

Meredith Wright

As Executive Vice President of the Eastern Region, Meredith oversees Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Georgia, and Texas. Ms. Wright is responsible for the financial and operational success of the Eastern Region portfolio while also managing the operational transition of new acquisitions in her portfolio.

Prior to Mission Rock, Meredith was a key founding member and Vice President of Operations for Echelon Property Group in Denver, CO. Her responsibilities included maintaining executive-level operational responsibility for approximately 6,000 fee-managed units statewide as well as engaging with clients, multiple ownership groups and asset managers.

For seven years as Vice President of Operations for Baron Properties, she was responsible for client development and all third-party management operations. Her previous experience also includes five years at Legacy Partners, with a Regional Manager role in both Northern California and Colorado.

Ms. Wright is a graduate of Colorado State University and is the past President of the Apartment Association of Metro Denver (AAMD) and current Executive Committee member of the AAMD. Meredith was also President of the Colorado Apartment Association (CAA). Ms. Wright holds a CAPS Designation (Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor) through NAA and is a CPM candidate through IREM.


Kay Hutchison, CAPS, CPM – Executive Vice President Western U.S. Region

Kay Hutchison

As Executive Vice President of the Western Region, Kay oversees Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. Ms. Hutchison is responsible for the financial and operational success of the Western Region portfolio while also managing the operational transition of new acquisitions in her portfolio.

Prior to joining Mission Rock Residential, Kay was the Vice President of Operations for PEM Real Estate Group in Scottsdale, AZ. She joined PEM in 2010 and was responsible for the property management of the SW Region, including Arizona, California and Nevada with the focus on increasing revenue and reducing operating expenses, while maintaining the integrity of the assets.

Kay was the President of Evergreen Realty Group for five years where she was responsible for the property management and client relations for 81 properties consisting of multifamily, student-housing, commercial and storage buildings. Her previous experience also includes ten years with Magellan Residential as the Vice President of Property Management in Arizona and California.

Ms. Hutchison holds an Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Nevada Broker Licenses, is a Certified Property Manager (CPM) through IREM, a Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) through NAA and attended Arizona State University.


Denise Todd – Vice President – Marketing and Training

Ms. Todd’s responsibilities include overseeing the marketing and education departments as well as managing the branding, leasing, design, digital marketing and all communications strategies for Mission Rock.

Prior to Mission Rock, Ms. Todd was the Senior Vice President of Marketing at Legacy Partners for twelve years. She provided oversight for the six Regional Marketing/Training Directors during the development and lease-up of over 12,000 new units, and the management of over 25,000 units. Denise was instrumental in the transition from Lincoln Property Management Company to Legacy Partners, managing the overall company re-branding all the way down to new collateral material for each property.

Denise has developed corporate training programs for the multifamily industry, presenting classes for the Urban Land Institute, NAA and MultiFamily Executive conferences. As a principal designer for national marketing campaigns at Legacy Partners, Ms. Todd also specialized in training colleagues to identify and execute best practices at all events. Ms. Todd attended Arizona State University, where she majored in business.
