Patricia Hutchison, CAPS, CPM – President
As President of Mission Rock Residential, Pat is responsible for the planning, transition, development, and performance of property operations. She oversees assets in excess of 24,000 units, valued at approximately $3 billion. Under Pat’s leadership, Mission Rock is an industry leader in implementing policies and procedures, systems, best practices, management structure, compensations systems, use of technology, and effective training to create a strong and consistent operating discipline for Mission Rock. Pat serves as the Executive Certified Property Manager (CPM) for Mission Rock and recently earned the Accredited Management Organization (AMO), both designations through the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).
Prior to joining Mission Rock, Pat was with Legacy Partners Residential, Inc. (LPRI). She joined LPRI in 1992 and was responsible for the property management of the Colorado and Utah regions where her focus was the oversight of several thousand units with values in excess of $450 million. Her multifamily experience spans over 28 years working with both institutional and private owners.
Pat holds a Colorado Employing Broker License and Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor designation (CAPS) through NAA. Pat also serves on the Board of Directors for the National Apartment Association. In 2017, she was awarded CPM of the Year through the IREM.
Charlie O’Connell Jr. – Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer and co-founder, Charlie brings over 20 years of finance, banking, and real estate industry experience to Mission Rock. Charlie was formerly a Senior Vice President at HSH Nordbank, where he structured and syndicated real estate debt, including mixed use, apartments, condominium, commercial office, and senior housing. Prior to HSH Nordbank, Charlie was the Chief Financial Officer at The Loan Page, which focused on online mortgage origination. Charlie previously worked at Nomura Securities/Capital America, where he underwrote CMBS debt originations throughout the United States and managed a $2.5 billion portfolio of debt and equity. Before Nomura, Charlie was employed at Dai-ichi Kangyo Bank, where he managed a portfolio of real estate workout loans.
Charlie graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Providence College.
Meredith Wright, CAPS – Executive Vice President, East
As Executive Vice President of the Eastern Region, Meredith oversees Mission Rock Residential's properties in Colorado, Georgia, Virginia, and Texas. Meredith is responsible for the financial and operational success of the Eastern Region portfolio while also managing the operational transition of new acquisitions in her portfolio.
Prior to Mission Rock, Meredith was a key founding member and Vice President of Operations for Echelon Property Group in Denver, CO. She maintained executive-level operational responsibility for approximately 6,000 fee-managed units statewide as well as engaging with clients, multiple ownership groups, and asset managers.
For seven years as Vice President of Operations for Baron Properties, she spearheaded client development and all third-party management operations. Her previous experience also includes five years at Legacy Partners Residential, Inc., with a Regional Manager role in both Northern California and Colorado.
Meredith is a graduate of Colorado State University and is the past President and current board member of both the Apartment Association of Metro Denver (AAMD) and Colorado Apartment Association (CAA). She received her Certified Apartment Property Supervisor (CAPS) designation through NAA and is a CPM candidate through IREM.
Kay Hutchison, CAPS, CPM – Executive Vice President, West
As Executive Vice President of the Western Region, Kay oversees Mission Rock Residential's properties in Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Idaho, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. Kay is responsible for the financial and operational success of the Western Region portfolio while also managing the operational transition of new acquisitions.
Prior to joining Mission Rock Residential, Kay was the Vice President of Operations for PEM Real Estate Group in Scottsdale, AZ. She joined PEM in 2010 and led the property management efforts in Arizona. Kay was also the President of Evergreen Realty Group for five years where she ran property management and client relations for 81 properties consisting of multifamily, student housing, commercial, and storage buildings. Her previous experience also includes ten years with Magellan Residential as the Vice President of Property Management in Arizona and California.
Kay holds a Broker License for Arizona, Washington, Oregon, and Nevada. She is a Certified Property Manager (CPM) through IREM, as well as a Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) through NAA.
Denise Todd – Senior Vice President, Marketing and Training
Denise's responsibilities include overseeing Mission Rock Residential's marketing and education departments in addition to managing the firm's branding, leasing, design, digital marketing, and all communications strategies.
Prior to Mission Rock, Denise served as Senior Vice President of Marketing at Legacy Partners Residential, Inc. for twelve years. She provided oversight for the six Regional Marketing/Training Directors during the development and lease-up of over 12,000 new units, and the management of over 25,000 units.
Denise has developed corporate training programs for the multifamily industry, presenting classes for conferences hosted by the Urban Land Institute, National Apartment Association (NAA), and MultiFamily Executive.
